Most GRC software demos look alike. The differences show up after go-live: whether risk owners actually log in, whether one control really covers several frameworks, and whether the data can stay where your regulator expects it. Use this list to compare platforms on what matters in the Gulf.
Fit with your frameworks
- ☐Ships with or can hold the control sets you need (ISO 27001, 22301, 9001, national frameworks)
- ☐Maps one control to several frameworks
- ☐Lets you add your own policies, obligations and custom frameworks
Data and security
- ☐Hosting location and data residency options that meet your sector rules
- ☐Role-based access and a full audit trail
- ☐Support for single sign-on with your identity provider
Day-to-day use
- ☐Occasional users (risk owners, auditees) can complete tasks without training
- ☐Reminders and escalations for overdue actions
- ☐Arabic and English support where your users need it
Integration and reporting
- ☐An API to connect HR, ticketing and identity systems
- ☐Dashboards by entity, department and framework
- ☐Board and regulator reports generated from live data
Rollout and support
- ☐A phased rollout plan starting with one or two modules
- ☐Data migration from spreadsheets and existing tools
- ☐Local support hours that match the Gulf working week
Start smaller than you think
The rollouts that stick start with the area causing the most pain, often audit follow-up, the risk register or document control, and add modules once people use the first one every week.
Fix the framework first
Software automates a process; it doesn’t decide your risk appetite or who owns a control. If those answers aren’t clear yet, a short consulting phase first will save rework.
